Sent Mail Toolbar - Reply All / Smart Reply

Post by sludge7071-g »

I'm using the latest, TB 60.5.0

I have 3 questions . . . here's what I'm doing.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Open a Sent Email

Right-click on the 1st (top) toolbar / Customize
. . . Show the buttons as "Text"
. . . Get rid of everything, except the basics, in this order:
. . . . . . Write, Address Book, [Print], Get Messages . . . Reply All, Menu
. . . . . . no - do this, see notes at bottom
. . . . . . Write, Address Book, [Print], Get Messages . . . Reply, Reply All, Menu

Right-click on the 2nd toolbar / Customize
. . . Get rid of everything, except the basics, in this order:
. . . . . . Delete, Reply, Forward, More
. . . . . . no - do this, see notes at bottom
. . . . . . Delete, Forward, More

Reply All:
1.) Why can't Reply All go on the same line as "Reply", to the right of it? It can only go on the 1st toolbar.
Being on the 1st toolbar, Reply All is not shaded darker grey, like the buttons below.
I see that I can put Reply to the left of Reply All on the 1st toolbar. Do that, and remove Reply from the 2nd toolbar.

Smart Reply - What is it?
The smart reply button displays either 'Reply' or 'Reply All'
depending on whether there is a single email address or multiple addresses in 'To' and 'CC' fields.
2.) Its icon looks the same as "Reply". Why?
3.) If I put it on the toolbar and click Done, it disappears. Is this a bug, or a feature in progress?

1.) Why can't Reply All go on the same line as "Reply", to the right of it? It can only go on the 1st toolbar.

I can do that with the toolbar at both the main window and the top of a message pane, using 60.5 and the default theme. Perhaps you need to press the button restore the default set of toolbar buttons and then try again.

2.) Its icon looks the same as "Reply". Why?

Possibly because they don't expect you to have both , so you only need to figure out the difference when customizing the toolbar.

3.) If I put it on the toolbar and click Done, it disappears. Is this a bug, or a feature in progress?

I only see smart reply in the message pane toolbar (not the main toolbar) when customizing 60.5. It doesn't disappear. Try pressing the button to restore the default set...

Here's what's going on - kind of confusing:

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Open a Sent Email

Right-click on the 1st (top) toolbar / Customize
. . . Show the buttons as "Text"
. . . Get rid of everything, except the basics, in this order:
. . . . . . Write, Address Book, [Print], Get Messages . . . Reply, Reply All, Menu

Right-click on the 2nd toolbar / Customize
. . . Show the buttons as "Text"
. . . Get rid of everything, except the basics, in this order:
. . . . . . Delete, Reply, Smart Reply, Forward, More

Reply All - 1st (top) toolbar
In Customize, you get a regular "Reply All" button, with no drop-down menu,
after you change it to "Text" and click Done

Reply All - 2nd toolbar
In Customize, if you select "Smart Reply", it changes to "Reply All" with a drop-down menu,
after you change it to "Text" and click Done

Smart Reply - What is it?
The smart reply button displays either 'Reply' or 'Reply All'
depending on whether there is a single email address or multiple addresses in 'To' and 'CC' fields.
. . . Yes, I see that it does this, that's cool!
. . . So, I don't need "Reply, Reply All" on the 1st (top) toolbar
