Use of an email address

Is there a setting that adds email addresses used are automatically adds to the address booksa

Thank you sir, BUT: in some areas I have used a long series of email addresses which was added to the address book from which at a later date I would like to use/send/to individually.Restating: I added a string but wish to select individual addresses later & don't know how?

There are some useful add-ons such as https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/th ... notto_ojx/ that let you specify what addresses not to use when specifying a mailing list. Unfortunately many don't seem to support version 60 or later. The expand mailing list recipients add-on at https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/th ... b-dl-users does.

You can always expand a mailing list in the Contacts sidebar (F9 in Write window) by selecting the list, right-click, Edit List (Ctrl+I), click OK, then select the contacts while holding Ctrl key, then click Add to button at bottom of the sidebar.
