Auto Hiding Folder Panel
Is there an option or an add on to auto hide the folder panel ? Like the task bar in Windows?

Re: Auto Hiding Folder Panel
I'm not aware of a auto-hide setting for the folder pane. I don't know if https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/th ... ers-panel/ will work with version 60.*. Unfortunately there is no link to a support page.

Re: Auto Hiding Folder Panel
The Autohide Folders panel extension works well in Thunderbird 60.5.3.
Tools > Addon Options > Autohide Folders panel
The extension has a "Toggle folders pane" button in the Customize Toolbar window.
The ctrl+1 keyboard shortcut doesn't work. I don't understand why.
AFAICT, the only problem with the code is a styling blemish in the Customize Toolbar window.
* chrome.manifest
There are no errors in the console.

Code: Select all
- style chrome://global/content/customizeToolbar.xul chrome://folderhider/skin/folderhider.css
+ style chrome://global/messenger/customizeToolbar.xul chrome://folderhider/skin/folderhider.css

Re: Auto Hiding Folder Panel
You need to toggle extensions.strictCompatibility to false using the config editor at tools -> optiosn -> advanced -> general (its similar to firefox's about:config once launched). Otherwise when you attempt to install the add-on using tools -> add-ons (since it doesn't claim to support version 60.*) it will fail.
Check that your browser didn't change the file extension for autohide_folders_panel-0.6-tb.xpi (the file you downloaded). Then go to tools -> add-ons -> extensions and left click on the gear like icon near the top left of the pane. Select "install add-on from file" from the list box, browse to the downloaded file, and select open. Press the install now button in the "software installation" popup window it displays. Then click on "restart now" or exit and restart Thunderbird.
If you have problems see the installation instructions for a different add-on in http://kb.mozillazine.org/Importing_folders . The only difference would be the add-on file.
