I guess you would need another Mac user to figure out the css.

When I view with DOM inspector, I have no info for bgcolor or text, just _moz_dirty by itself is listed there in the same tree structure as you've shown...

Ugh. I give up. Unfortunately, this approach is too granular to solve without intimate knowledge of the application. Noting here as unresolved and moving on.
