For the past 2 days I am getting a connection timeout to my comcast email server. I have checked with comcast and they are not aware of any issues. I have rebooted my computer and router with the same results. I am running version 60.7.0.

Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

My Comcast IMAP account is working fine. Do you have any problems with other POP/IMAP accounts?

Comcast's DNS server frequently gets overloaded. It's useful to configure a free secondary DNS server from somebody else in case of problems with the Comcast primary DNS server.

I do not any other email accounts that I use thunderbird for; only hotmail and gmail. Guess I need to call Comcast and see what they have to say

See if you have the same problem sending mail.

If you are using a anti-virus scanner that intercepts your new mail (in order to read it) experiment with disabling the anti-virus scanner.

Try running a internet speed test such as https://www.speedtest.net/ and see if you get speeds near what you are supposed to get.
