Problem with auto-complete: how to delete an entry

Post by tashaThunderbird »

Thunderbird 60.9.0 running on 64-bit windows 7

In the from list, we have (for example) an entry joe@xyz.com

How can we remove that entry?

Note: the address book does not have anything with "xyz.com" in it. But, there is a mailbox/mail-account called joe@xyz.com which is no longer used - they do not want to delete that. They only want to remove the entry in the from list.

Thanks!

Did you check the collected addresses address book too? https://superuser.com/questions/155790/ ... -drop-down

Check that the email address is not one of your multiple identities, which can be defined for an account.

If its no longer based on a usage count for a contact stored in the address book you might be able to find the files used to store that and delete that file. See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Files_and_fol ... hunderbird

Thanks, tanstaafl. I did check the collected addresses book - no reference to xyz.com.

Other than the mailbox/mail-account called joe@xyz.com, xyz.com in not configured in any of the account settings.

I looked at a handful of files referenced in
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Files_and_fol ... hunderbird
but I didn't find anything there. I really don't know which files to examine.
