TB 68.2.1 Reply Quote

Post by Bplayer »

The latest version of TB now uses left and right vertical quotation marks in replies. This is a change from TB 60. The old addons that managed this are not compatible. I have tried altering some of the settings in about:config, but they have not changed anything.

Any hints on how I can get rid of the vertical quotation marks?

I was not using any formatting addons with TB 60 when vertical marks were not used. In the past I seem to remember using ReplyWithHeader and QuoteAndCompose. ReFwdFormatter like like it would do what is required but it is not compatible with TB 68.

There is a ReplyWithHeader beta addon available for Thunderbird 68.

Another developer fixed the ReFwdFormatter addon for Thunderbird 68.

Update: I downgraded to TB 60 and found that the vertical quote was actually there. TB 68 provided a list of incompatible add-on and ReFewdFormatter must have been one of them. I have re-installed it and all is well (until TB 68 some time in the future).
