How do I undo an update?

60.9.1 has "Connection to pop.xxx.server timed out" error. I have tried disabling Norton. I have increased the time-out length. I have not downloaded a single pop email since the update three day ago.
How do I undo the update?

You uninstall that version (it doesn't delete your profile) and then run the setup program for a older version. See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Go_back_to_an ... hunderbird for where to get the setup program.

Before you do that try logging into webmail using a browser and reading and then deleting the oldest new message. If it was a "bad" message that can cause a logjam as Thunderbird isn't smart enough to complain and then skip over a bad message. The oldest new mail is typically at the BOTTOM of the new mail.
