After an update from 60.9 to 68.6 I have no more access to my mails.
1. the update seems to not have completed (the arrow continues to circle)
2. the folders don't show, except the menus the screen is empty
3. the diffrent options in the Tools menu are not responsive; no options, no account parameters
4. when I click on "Get mail" new mail are transferred but don' show up

From the last point I would say the Profile is transferred from the previous version.

I tried to make an installation from scratch with the same result.

I am a bit lost. Any help?

Try running in safe mode to see if your problem is due to a mis-behaving add-on. Either use help -> restart with add-ons disabled or hold down the Shift key when clicking on the Thunderbird shortcut.

Are you using POP or IMAP accounts? If its a POP account you might be running into a logjam due to a message with bad headers. Thunderbird isn't smart enough to display a warning and skip to the next message when that occurs. The standard workaround is to log into webmail using a browser, read and delete the oldest new message (that is the next message it would try to download, which may not be the one at the top of the folder listing), log out of webmail, and try again.

Does clicking on the about:profiles link in help -> troubleshooting information list one or two profiles?

I tried "safe mode" without any result.
I reinstalled 60.9 and all mails come in perfectly.
Impossible to go to "about:profiles" since none of the menus is active and non responsive; except "Get mail" who loads messages (that don't show) which leads me to consider that the profile is correct.

I remember you that execpt the three top lines of menus the screen is empty.

To start in Safe Mode, close Thunderbird, using the Windows Task Manager if necessary, then
hold down the Shift key when clicking on the Thunderbird shortcut.

Yes, you did. Sorry, I missed that.

Clear the browser cache and the Windows Temp directory.
Download a new copy of the full installer from http://www.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/thunderbird/all
Delete the directory C:\Program Files\Mozilla Thunderbird (or it might be C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Thunderbird)
Run the installer.

Note that your saved messages, address books, settings, passwords, etc (if any) are stored in a different directory from the program files and will not be removed by deleting the directory identified above.

This thread viewtopic.php?f=39&t=996475&p=5239885#p5239885 has a more detailed version of the above instructions if needed.
