Changed Gmail Password - Can Log in to gmail.com, But.....

I'm getting a username and password not accepted" error in Gmail in Thunderbird, despite being able to log in from gmail.com. Here is a screenshot. Any ideas how I can fix this?

If you had stored the password for automatic entry, have you deleted that value and then closed and restarted Thunderbird before entering the new password value?

I've also enabled less secure apps in Gmail, but I still can't access Gmail in Thunderbird.

Update. As I said, I enabled less secure apps in Gmail, and it even showed me the time I enabled it. However, the button still said off. I clicked the button, and everything works now. Thank you, Dan, for your replies.
