Just reinstalled Thunderbird, set up account and now when I open it the top left hand corner the ring just keeps going round, the program will not open,
Please please help me

Why were you reinstalling?
Have you tried starting the program in Mozilla Safe mode?

If there is a "parent.lock" file in the profile delete that file and try again. That is a temporary file used to tell Thunderbird if an instance of itself is already running. It should have been automatically deleted the last time Thunderbrid shutdown, but sometimes the process doesn't exit cleanly.
You can run Thunderbird in safe mode by holding down the Shift key when double clicking on the shortcut. That will temporarily disable all add-ons.
If none of this helps try rebooting and have Windows scan for bad file sectors. See https://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows ... tem-files/
