I have occasionally accidentally moved messages or folders within the local folders area, mostly due to my clumsy use of the mouse. Is there a way of setting up a check such as "are you sure" query when moving messages or folders within the local folders area?

None that I am aware of. But, other than that momentary inconvenience (because they can always be moved back to their original location), is there some problem as a result of moving those messages?

Perhaps, you could show an alert when mail is sent to Local Folders.

Thanks Dan and Morat for your help.
In reply to Dan, because I have nested Local Folders I sometimes have to search in them to see where I have accidentally moved messages, not an insurmountable problem but can be tiresome. I have a two monitor setup so sometimes I do not realise that my mouse cursor is operating on the screen I am not looking at. Its a shame there is not a "back" button to undo a previous move.
Morat, your suggestion is worth looking into - thanks.

More ideas...

You could hide Local Folders.

You could change folder flags to Outbox so you can't mouse drop messages.

You could create an extension like ConfirmFolderMove to replace the gFolderTreeView.drop function in the folderPane.js file.
