Hi Everybody,

I would like to transfer many years of eMail activity to an easy-to-backup directory on my Windows-10 computer. I plan to use "C:\Data\eMail\" as the primary directory. I already keep a bunch of documents there and back it all, regularly.

First thing: Is this sort of notion a good idea, or something I will regret ever thinking about?

Second thing: If this is a good idea, how should I approach it?
Where does Thunderbird store the existing, (the what) 20 years of eMails and such.
Can I simply move the data to the Data directory and change the location listed in the Account Settings->message storage->directory?

Many thanks,
Paul
