I've updated, and so far so good, but 78.1.1 ran fine for a few days for me before it began freezing, too. I'm hopeful, but not counting this as definitely-fixed just yet..

Uhm, that would be because 78.1.1 has none of the relevant performance fixes.

Okay... I did specifically ask which bugs were causing the freezing. Now that we've seen a list of bugs fixed in 78.2.0, and none of them appear relevant to the freezing problem, I still have no idea what "the relevant performance fixes" are.

Regardless, If the problem remains gone, I'm happy about that, and appreciate those who fixed it!

Does 78 still work for everyone now? (With 78.2)

It's still working fine for me. I've even found a bunch of updated extensions and installed them. I'm very happy with it now!

Thanks, kungfujoe! I'm trying to get the courage to go up to 78 again, after all the destruction that going back and forth
and flailing inbetween got me.
