Thank you morat, that worked. Archive and Delete are now white instead of back on the dark blue background.

You're welcome.

So the issue was oldyeller is using a high contrast theme?

Will they have to make any changes to the CSS when the bug fix hits a 78 version?

Why doesn't their screenshot look like the ones in the bug report where the text is clearly visible?

This bug existed with both the Default and Light themes. I'll see what happens when TB updates from 78 to 84 whether 84 overrides the CSS fix.I also have code in the CSS to stop message titles disappearing when I moused over them using the Default theme. I didn't see thee other screen shots you refer to.

Thunderbird 78 will probably be updating to Thunderbird 91 according to the latest Release Management Calendar

That worked great. However now that TB updated to 78.5.0 (32-bit) it's messed up again. but not as bad. When I select all messages, the Archive and Delete buttons are now white text in a light grey background and turn to white text on a dark blue background when I hover over them.

@oldyellr

This entry would revert it back to the last release.

Code: Select all
.hdrArchiveButton:not([tooltiptext]),
.hdrTrashButton:not([tooltiptext]) {
  background: none !important;
  border: none !important;
  color: white !important;
  fill: white !important;
}
