Assume my Thunderbird v68.12.1 installation was somehow triggered to downloaded the newest Thunderbird v83.* package.
But it is currently NOT applied resp. installed. I guess Thunderbird v68 stored the download package in a certain download directory
and set a flag that an upgrade should be performed.
In exactly which directory is the downloaded package stored?
Which flag (in which file or registry key) is set to trigger the upgrade procedure at next Thunderbird launch?
I want to abort the upgrade before it takes place.

How to cancel update AFTER download but BEFORE installation?
