Re: suddenly unable to d/l emails to all computers
Are those computers accessing just one account or more than one account?
How is the account set up, as POP or IMAP? In Thunderbird the menu path is Tools->Account Settings->Server Settings->Server Type at the top right of the dialogue.

Re: suddenly unable to d/l emails to all computers
With 3 accounts you should have 3 sets of server settings. Are they all POP, as suggested by the reference to "Leave messages on server"? If not, which accounts are POP and which are IMAP?How is the account set up, as POP or IMAP? In Thunderbird the menu path is Tools->Account Settings->Server Settings->Server Type at the top right of the dialogue.
What do you mean by "switched my default from yahoo to gmail"? Did you change a setting in Thunderbird under Tools->Account Settings->Account Actions drop down?

Well, changing that selection should not have had anything like the impact you describe. The first obvious diagnostic step would be to change the default account back to what it was prior to this to see if that restores functionality. If not, please report back.
What was your purpose in changing that default setting?

no change when switching default back to yahoo.
im thinking its maybe gmail itself.
i have both win10 & win7 on same computer.
booted to w10 & d/l emails from yahoo & gmail
boot to w7 & only yahoo emails show up-none of the gmail emails came thru, theyre still sitting on the server when i look with firefox browser.

Re: suddenly unable to d/l emails to all computers
found it-it's a quirk with gmail pop format

I'd had that but deleted it as I forgot why it was there & thought I didn't need it any more!
