Can I setup external browser for OAuth2 pop-up window?

I am using Thunderbird 78.6.0 on Windows.

I am no longer able to connect to my work's gmail account. I was previously connecting successfully using OAuth2, but my company has recently implemented SAML2. I have this configured as OAuth2 in Thunderbird, and when I try to connect, it pops up the IdP login window so I can enter my credentials. However, the company has restricted it so that the IdP login to only work with Chrome, so it fails with an "unsupported browser" message with the Thunderbird pop-up window.

Is there a way to have Thunderbird launch the pop-up window in an external window (Chrome) for entering the credentials when configured with OAuth2?

See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Changing_the_ ... hunderbird . I know that works for links in messages, no idea if that will also effect what is used for the popup window. It might be hard coded to call the Gecko library routines.

You can edit the contents of the storage used by the password wizard in Thunderbird and the context menu (right click on entry) is the same for tokens and passwords. So if you can figure out some way to make Chrome show you the token you can probably copy&paste it into the password wizards storage.
