How to enable updates

TB ver 78.5.1 32 bit
Win 10 pro
Release channel

hi there

On my back up computer at some point, I disabled updates.
Now I would like to update it to ver 78.7.1

I went to the about TB, and where I would normally click on updates, it tells me "Updates are disabled by the system administrator"

I searched options and settings, but can't find how to "enable"

Appreciate suggestions what to do

Resolved the problem, more or less

I went to TB web site and downlaoded the ver 78.7.1

however, if possible could you still kindly explain to me how to enable updates for future use

There are multiple ways to turn off updates. I don't know how you did it.

Is there a policies.json file in the distribution folder where the thunderbird.exe executable is located?

i.e. <installation_folder>\distribution\policies.json

Didn't you create the DisableAppUpdate registry entry?
