Double lines after Enter key

I do remember seeing this before answered but trying to find it is not easy.

A friend had downloaded a version of TB & when creating a message, each time he hits Enter key, it puts two blank lines/rows in.

What is the process to clear this up please?

In tools -> options try checking "use paragraph format instead of Body Text by default".
