In my account settings, I have my signature set to a bunch of underscore lines "_______________________________________" to act as a separator for my messages. However, when creating a new message, Thunderbird will place "--" in a line above that. It doesn't matter what I put in the signature area. I could turn on 'Use HTML' and do a <hr>, or even just type 'a' in the signature. Doesn't matter what, TB will add that extra line. If I completely clear out the signature section and create a new message though, it doesn't occur.
Why is this happening?
EDIT: This occurs on multiple accounts too.
Thunderbird adding "--" before every signature

Re: Thunderbird adding "--" before every signature
Moving to Thunderbird Support as no bug has been identified here.
That double hyphen is an Internet standard default indicator for the start of the signature in email messages. See this article -- http://kb.mozillazine.org/Thunderbird_: ... Signatures including the "External Links" section at the bottom of the article.

Re: Thunderbird adding "--" before every signature
You're welcome, and it was not a problem at all.
