uBlock Element Picker and Zapper Modes

I use Thunderbird 78.14 portable with uBlock 1.37.2 and cannot get element picker mode to do anything. I can
select it, but nothing happens. The same for element zapper mode. Are these functions still not implemented
for this version of TB (ESR)?

Edit: I was under the impression element picker did not work at all, because it would never work when selecting and article from an rss feed such as http://feeds.feedburner.com/TheWindowsClub, etc. I just tried element picker by selecting About Thunderbird and selecting Release Notes and it works there. Is RSS feed content not supported?

I think its really a question of whether the add-on has been modified to work with Thunderbird's version of the WebExtension API since I suspect you're using the version for Firefox from the Mozilla add-ons web site.

https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock doesn't mention Thunderbird support at all (just browsers). There doesn't appear to be a version of the add-on at https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/ .

https://github.com/uBlockOrigin/uBlock- ... issues/825 (Ublock 1.24.2 does not work properly on Thunderbird 68.2.2 (64-bit) #825) is still open.

The author mentions in https://github.com/uBlockOrigin/uBlock- ... issues/824 "afaik ublock only works for feed rss that are displayed as webpages not text only. I don't know if it could be used to block elements in email too."

I tried version 1.37.3rc5 for Thunderbird from the following page.

Thunderbird: Download uBlock0_1.37.3rc5.thunderbird.xpi, then drag-n-drop it into Thunderbird's Add-ons Manager pane (Thunderbird 78+ required)

It works for me just like adric said. I guess the message pane content is not supported.

I am using https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/relea ... erbird.xpi from the github releases which is listed in the assets of each release.
The feeds from WindowsClub are all displayed the same as in Firefox with images etc. and not only text

Tested this again with ThunderbirdPortableTest_93.0_Beta_1 and no problems with RSS Feeds using Element Picker and Zapper modes there, so I guess the APIs in v78 don't work correctly for everything.
