Controlling notifications (Mac)

Post by mozurkewich »

Is there a way to specify what appears in notifications? When an email comes in, I would like to know who it is from, not who it is to (which I already know). Can I change that?

I am using a Mac, Big Sur, 11.6. I am pretty sure Tbird is up to date, 91.3.1

Is the mail.biff.alert.show_subject pref set to true?

Is the mail.biff.alert.show_sender pref set to true?

Maybe the mail subject is too long, so to hide the sender's name?

Try the Mailbox Alert addon as an alternative.

I think version 0.29.1 works in Thunderbird 91. The reviewers had problems with the previous version.

Thanks for the reply. I only just now noticed it since the system never sent me a notification that there was a reply.

Going through the links, it looks like there is no way to get what I want, except maybe the add-on. What I want is for the title to be who the message is from.
