Send later and drafts folder

After an update whenever I open the Drafts folder which is where all the messages I've scheduled to be send later are using the 'Send later' add on, thunderbird pretty much freezes, nothing can be done, and thunderbird is taking up over 90% of the ram, the whole computer slows down. And it takes like 15-20 minutes just to open an email from the drafts folder. Is there any way to fix this mess?

Have you confirmed that you have the latest version of the extension? It was last updated in September.

Yes both thunderbird and send later add on is up to date.
