Running Windows 10 vsn 10.0.19042 build 19042; Thunderbird 91.3.2 (64 bit)
Enter Preferences: and 'movement' (eg scrolling, change section) causes very very slow running, 'not responding', sometimes Thunderbirt collapses, other times locks solid and has to be killed.
Tried in Safe mode -- same
Tried with Windows 10 in safe mode -- same
Disabled all add-ons/etensions (only 2) -- same
Otherwise working OK as a mail client with no apparent problems
No known changes to Thunderbird (other than the problem apparent under previous version, downloaded latest to no effect)
No known changes to windows

Clear the browser cache and the Windows Temp directory.
Download a new copy of the full installer from http://www.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/thunderbird/all
Delete the directory C:\Program Files\Mozilla Thunderbird
Run the installer.
Note that your saved messages, address books, settings, passwords, etc (if any) are stored in a different directory from the program files and will not be removed by deleting the directory identified above.
Download a new copy of the full installer from http://www.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/thunderbird/all
Delete the directory C:\Program Files\Mozilla Thunderbird
Run the installer.
