Recover deleted Blogs & News Feeds

Post by ronkol »

TB 91.4.1, accidentally deleted the Blogs and News feeds folder. The folder contents are still in the Profile folder, tried copying to the newly created B & N folder and it worked, but now the feeds aren't updating. There are 2
B & N folders in the Profile folder, since TB recreates the folder when it starts, and I know which one has all the feed information. A little help please before I screw this up anymore than I have already :D

Some ancient threads claim you need to delete the "feeditems.rdf" and "feeds.rdf" files in the Mail\News and Blogs section of the profile to re-enable feeds. Nowadays Thunderbird uses .json files instead of .rdf files. Sorry if I'm not helping much, I haven't used a RSS account in Thunderbird for many years.

If you see a feeds.json.corrupted file see https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1701414

Thanks. I read those old threads and stopped when they mentioned the ,rdf files since I knew the current versions use .json. Anyway I gave up and installed a separate RSS reader to monitor the forums that I need to watch. No more comments needed here.
