Is it possible to change/disable colors of background/text for tags?
Currently colors are too bright and text is hard to read.

You can change the colors for tags in tools -> preferences. I suspect the problem is you are using a dark background. The default colors seem to have been chosen for a light background.

You are right. Background for tags is more suited to a light theme.
