Hi,
Do you NOT see a large green Download Now button?

Nope! No such button is showing. I'm running TBird v. 91.10.0 (64-bit)

Hi,
Plus...You're running Linux.
The D/L process may be different.
I'll add Linux to the title to attract those users.

Re: How do I download an add-on?
I managed to work around the problem and successfully downloaded 'full-address-column-master.zip'.
Now, when I attempt to install it from a file, I get this notice:
about:addons
This add-on could not be installed because it appears to be corrupt.
I suspect that the filetype, '.zip', was not expected.

I did a quick search & found this article...
> https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/in ... hunderbird
I think if you use your browser, you can D/L the .xpi file, save it & use the Addons Managager in Thunderbird to install it from file.

Try downloading the full_address_column-1.0.3-tb.xpi file with Firefox, not Thunderbird.
Download from the ATN page, not the GitHub page.

Thanks morat.
I forgot that installing extensions into Thunderbird was different.

From 'https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/in ... hunderbird':
Visit the webpage in your browser, right-click the download link with your mouse, select Save Link As… and save the XPI file
What "webpage"?
Re, 'https://github.com/lkosson/full-address ... ind/master', there appears to be no '.xpi' file.
What's an "ATN page"? This: 'https://github.com/lkosson/full-address-column' has no reference to an ATN (whatever that is).

Re: How do I download an add-on?[LINUX.]
Aha!
I did a DDG search for 'full_address_column-1.0.3-tb.xpi' -- thanks for supplying that name, morat -- and got a link to 'https://addons.thunderbird.net/En-Us/th ... ss-column/'. There's a "Download Now" button on THAT page. I think I'm okay, now.
What an interesting hassle. Thanks for all your help.

Re: How do I download an add-on?[LINUX.]
I attempted to install 'full_address_column-1.0.3-tb.xpi' and failed. I would guess that it requires a restart and then doesn't survive the restart.
I'm having other issues regarding restart survival. If interested -- tanstaafl seems to be very interested -- I suggest you start here: 'viewtopic.php?p=14931059#p14931059'
and read upwards -- it's a long thread with tons of to and fro, a real voyage of discovery.

Oh! Okay.morat wrote:ATN = addons.thunderbird.net

Well, I was relying on Tools > Add-ons and Themes > "Add-ons Manager" > Extensions > Find more add-ons (search box) [_recipient_] > Sort by: Top Rated > (scroll down to "@ Full Address Column") > https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/th ... src=search, the page served to me has no '.xpi' name and no "Download Now" button.
But if I FFox-browse to https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/th ... src=search, then it does have a "Download Now" button.
?? What? is TBird removing the "Download Now" button?

You used the Add-ons Manager in Thunderbird?
Tools > Add-ons and Themes
Select "Extensions"
Enter "Full Address" in the search bar
Press Enter
It is at the top of the search results with an "Add to Thunderbird" button
I clicked the button and the extension installed
Tools > Add-ons and Themes
Select "Extensions"
Enter "Full Address" in the search bar
Press Enter
It is at the top of the search results with an "Add to Thunderbird" button
I clicked the button and the extension installed

Thank you for helping, Walt,
Yes, I get the "+ Add to Thunderbird" button, but I need the actual '.xpi', instead.WaltS48 wrote:You used the Add-ons Manager in Thunderbird? ...
