Thunderbird has an annoying behavior.
When I'm selecting an email address from a reply message window (to copy this in the To or Cc box), Thunderbird automatically opens a new composition window. How do I stop this from happening?
Best regards,
Jurgen

What version of Thunderbird? (Please don't say "Latest" as that is ambiguous.)
Does the same thing happen if you launch the application in Mozilla Trouble Shooting Mode? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/di ... shoot-mode

Do you select the link (address) with the left mouse button or copy it with the right mouse button via the context menu? Maybe you are double-clicking?Jurgske wrote: How do I stop this from happening?
You can turn off the clickability of links, it will probably fix your problem, especially since you can always go back to the original state. Menu "Hamburger">Preferences>General>scroll down>Config Editor... Paste in search bar network.protocol-handler.external-default, then set network.protocol-handler.external-default = false (by default = true)
