Don't receive email from one person

Post by MomAries »

Hello everyone, I was wondering what happened why I do not receive email from only one person? It only happened about a week ago. I communicated perfectly with him before that!~!!!! I get email from everyone else on my address book except him. What is going on and How to correct it?
Thank you for any tops and advises.
Many thanks to all the folks who help me with my problems.

Have you checked your Junk folder (both in Thunderbird and on the server) to make sure that messages from that person are not being identified as Junk?
How is the account set up, as POP or IMAP? In Thunderbird the menu path is Tools->Account Settings->Server Settings->Server Type at the top right of the dialogue.

I only checked on Thunderbird just. It's NEVER there. I will follow your path to check on server. Account is set up as POP.

I don't know how to check the server for the junk. Can you please guide me????
P.S. your link leads me how to find out which server. I need to know how to see junk there.
Many thanks to all the folks who help me with my problems.

Your email provider will have a webmail page you can log into using a browser somewhere on their web site. Then find the spam or junk folder. You're looking there because your email provider may have classified the message as junk, preventing Thunderbird from ever seeing it in the inbox.

If you were using Gmail you'd go to http://www.google.com/gmail/ . If you're using your ISP as your email provider you'd typically search for their name and login using google search. For example "Xfinity login". Then click on the link in the search results that has the words login or sign in and the company name (such as https://login.xfinity.com/login), sign in and look for a Email link (webmail).

My provider is AT&T. Do you have a link by any chance to their junk location??? No I don't use google.

Nope. See if https://itechhacks.com/att-email-login-guide/ helps you find the web page to login to their webmail.

AT&T's spam filter has been a PITA over the past couple of weeks, blocking many legitimate accounts.

To login to your account, you have to go to the main page -- https://currently.att.yahoo.com/
Then click on the mail icon in the upper right-hand corner. (ignore the drop down list)
When the login page is displayed, type in your email address and your password.
The email page should then display, which is very similar to Thunderbird's.
Click on the SPAM folder displayed on the left and if you see your friend's emails, click on all the check boxes next to them to select them and then click on NOT SPAM (displayed above the list).
After doing this, the emails should be transferred to the Inbox.
You can then go to Thunderbird to retrieve them, or you can call them up right on the AT&T email page.

(By default, any emails that have been downloaded using Thunderbird will be transferred to AT&T's trash folder.)

Because of the over-aggressive SPAM filter, I've gotten into the habit of checking the main AT&T email page several times a day.
