Classic view empty, but normal in troubleshoot mode

Post by cn04 »

Running Thunderbird on LG laptop and Thunderbird shows no folders, empty mail list and empty content in classic view, with only Get Messages, Write and Address Book buttons not grayed out. In Troubleshoot Mode, all is visible and working. No extensions or themes are installed. Not sure what to do next. Running version 102.0.

Try deleting xulstore.json, directoryTree.json , foldertree.json , mailviews.dat, search.json, and session.json in the profile. When you restart Thunderbird it will replace those files with ones using default values, so you will need to customize your toolbars again. But hopefully it will get Thunderbird working again.

None of those files contain any of your data (settings, passwords, mail, contacts, calendar etc.).

I deleted xulstore.json, mailviews.dat, search.json and session.json, but not directoryTree.json and foldertree.json, which had older dates. Thunderbird is now working normally without affecting the prior presentation.

Thank you tanstaafl, for your timely solution.
