Not receiving my own messages to newsgroups

Post by GJim »

I belong to 3 newsgroups. Before switching to Thunderbird, I always received my own message postings to the groups - but, no longer. The only way, now, that I know that my message was posted is if I receive a reply. I have checked newsgroup settings and none are set to not send my messages to me.
How/why is Thunderbird blocking receiving the newsgroup messages that I send?

Thanks for any assistance.

What version of Thunderbird are you using? Please don't say latest as that is ambiguous. One reason I ask is 102 is still too buggy to be released as a update to existing installations, its only available as a download from thunderbird.net .

The newsgroup section of Thunderbird is a backwater that I don't think has had any new features since it was first added over 20 years ago. Its basically what was in Netscape. They just keep it running. I've used it before but never posted anything using it so I'm more used to problems like getting something subscribed etc. Perhaps somebody else can help you.

You might have better luck asking in the official support forums at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/thunderbird . For email problems it really doesn't make a difference where you ask but for a unusual question about newsgroups the fact they have a lot more traffic might help.

I'm using version 91.9.1 (64-bit).

I will repeat my question on the forum as you suggest. Thanks.
