Hi to all
@mentions are an easy way to draw someone's attention to a high-priority conversation or message. To mention someone inside the body of an email, you need to type @Name in the message (and automatically appears potential usernames of your addressbook). Then, you can start by typing the @ character — a popup menu will appear with a list of all users in the conversation.
I think that this feature worked in other versions of Thunderbird, but in v102, it seems not.
Did anybody try this?
Can anyone give me any clues to solve?
Thx.

Re: @mentions someone inside an email not working
I never heard of this before. If it was built into Thunderbird perhaps it depended upon earlier versions of Gecko (layout engine) that supported XPCOM/XUL.
It doesn't work for me in 102.3.0 when I try it. Could it be a feature in the Thunderbird Conversations add-on at https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-us/th ... ew/?src=ss ?
I'm confused as how this feature would draw somebodies attention to a message that they don't bother reading. The closest I've heard of something like this is a add-on that adds a persons email address to CC: if you '@' their name in the message body. It supposedly broke in version 91.
See https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-us/th ... /mentions/ or https://github.com/joax/thunderbird-mentions
Do you have any idea where you might have heard of this feature?

Re: @mentions someone inside an email not working
Thanks for your reply.
I used the Thunderbird Conversations add-on, but I uninstalled a long time ago due to some problems when upgrading TB. I know that the developer updated the add-on to a new version more stable, but since the new TB UI I am not using. Anyway, this capability of @mentioned was not included.
Then, when I discovered the second add-on, mentioned in your message, I have installed, and it worked until v91. as you also said.
This functionality is included in Gmail or Outlook, but I didn't know if TB included natively, and that is why I was confused if this was the reason the add-on stopped working.
From your post I understand know that TB doesn't implement this functionality and that the add-on stopped working for an unknown reason.
Thanks anyway for your expertise. I'm afraid that I can't use it, it is very helpful when you want to get someone's attention in an email message or a meeting invite. And also, developers have no plans to include it.
