Deleting duplicate pop accounts of IMAP accounts?
After having added the same accounts like the pop accounts again as IMAP accounts I still have the old pop accounts:
Should / could I remove the IMAP accounts without causing any problems / losing e-mails?
The e-mails of the duplicate accounts (IMAP und pops) are all in the old pop accounts (instead of in the IMAP accounts). Why is that? Some, a few, are also in the IMAP accounts, not the newest ones).

Re: Deleting duplicate pop accounts of IMAP accounts?
Many thanks for the link.
So I simply had to move the e-mails from the pop accounts to the same IMAP accounts each. And then I just need to remove the pop accounts?
It seem as if I could move the e-mails from the old pop account directly to the IMAP accound by drag & drop:
But in the instructions such is not mentioned, so is it possible? Otherwise do I have to first move the e-mails to Local Folders (if I do not want use the server), then from there to the IMAP account?

Re: Deleting duplicate pop accounts of IMAP accounts?
I would suggest COPYING the messages from the POP accounts to the IMAP accounts, not moving them. That way if there is an issue, the messages would still be in the folders of the POP account. Copying can be done holding down the Ctrl key while dragging and dropping to the folder of the IMAP account OR by selecting messages and using either the Message->Copy to path or right clicking on selected messages and using the "Copy to" option from the context menu.
And no, you don't need to move anything to Local Folders as the folders of the POP account are already stored on the local computer.

I cannot find a way to move / copy the archives, neither with drag and drop within Thunderbird or to a file manager, etc. nor somehow with an item in the menu:
How could I do it?

Re: Deleting duplicate pop accounts of IMAP accounts?
What is happening when you try to copy that? Have you tried copying one folder at a time, such as just 2011?
What is it (specifically) that you are trying to copy using Windows File Explorer?

Absolutely nothing (what I could notice). No error, move / copy message. Just nothing. What is happening when you try to copy that?
Yes, the same like above.Have you tried copying one folder at a time, such as just 2011?
Nothing, I do not use it.What is it (specifically) that you are trying to copy using Windows File Explorer?
I tried to drag and drop the Archives to the drive / to a file manager (to copy it to the IMAP account in Thunderbird), but nothing is moved / copied.
I even cannot add a folder:

Re: Deleting duplicate pop accounts of IMAP accounts?
Try copying those archives to sub-folders of Local Folders rather than to folders o the IMAP account.
Alternatively, you could try first creating folders of the same names in the IMAP account and then copying the messages from the POP archive to the new folders in the IMAP account.

And leave them there? I rather would like to have them in the account they belong to.Try copying those archives to sub-folders of Local Folders
Yes, I would like to, but it does not seem to be possible (see screehnshot above ("New sub folder" is greyed out in the context menu). Or am I missing anything?Alternatively, you could try first creating folders of the same names in the IMAP account

Re: Deleting duplicate pop accounts of IMAP accounts?
I can't tell from your screen shots whether you have selected the POP or IMAP account in the 3:37am post. Either way, you can't create a new "subfolder" at the account level but there is also no context menu option to create a new folder.
Try logging onto the IMAP account using a browser and creating new folders and sub-folders in that environment. Do just one or two to start and see if you can them copy or move the messages from the POP account archives folder to the newly created IMAP folders..

I assume, it's the screenshot showing the copy action (different times here, time: xx:37).I can't tell from your screen shots whether you have selected the POP or IMAP account in the 3:37am post.
The account on the server?Try logging onto the IMAP account using a browser and creating new folders and sub-folders in that environment.
