How to prevent multiple indentations in email chain?

I have TB 102.6.1, in Dell XPS 17 21H2

My most recent "long chain" email, has multiple indentations of about half an inch per email. So the oldest email consists of a vertical line of characters. (Joking)

I don't think I've seen that indentation style for 50 years. Is there an option to change that in TB ?

Maybe it came through from the sender ?

I haven't seen that type of problem. Perhaps you just got a really weird message from the sender (for some unknown reason).
