What happened to the "Show remote content" button ?

Post by OldGrantonian »

.
I have TB 102.6.1, Win 10 Home 21H2, Dell XPS 17.

Up till recently, my incoming emails had a button at top right, labelled "Show remote content" (or something similar).

That button has disappeared. Emails now show links and other scary-looking stuff - some of which bears no resemblance to the URL at lower left

Also, email chains have a blue line down the left margin, and are INDENTED. I now assume this is the reason why I see the indentations that I mention in my other recent post here:

[BTW: I'm following the rule: One issue per post.]

Note: In Tools > Settings > Privacy & Security > Mail Content, "Allow remote content in messages" is NOT checked.

I would be grateful for any advice on how to stop incoming emails from showing active content.

Thanks.

I see a yellow notification bar with an Options button like in the following pics.

I've seen the yellow bar in your d2a5.png several times.

So, when I open TB in the mornings, I see any one of the following, randomly:

- The yellow bar in your d2a5.png
- The "Show remote content" button at top right.
- Active content (the current presentation), with graphics, the narrow blue line on the left, and successive indentations in any email chain. Unsafe.

Thanks
