Hi,
I have imported a profile from another computer, with the same name as my current profile, now I have two profiles with the same name. I will eventually remove one of them; but until I do, how do I activate one as my default profile.
Thanks,
...... john

Re: activating default profile
I'm kinda surprised you can have the same name twice.
Enter in the Windows Taskbar Search Thunderbird -p
This will launch the profile manager.
In your case I'd make some distinction using the rename option between the two entries like:
UserProfileA
UserProfileB
Enter in the Windows Taskbar Search Thunderbird -p
This will launch the profile manager.
In your case I'd make some distinction using the rename option between the two entries like:
UserProfileA
UserProfileB

Hi Bruce,
Will this help me to set one of the profiles as the default?

Re: activating default profile
Yes. The "last" profile hilighted when you "Start Thunderbird" will be set as the default and it will remain the default until you start thunderbird again with a different profile selected from the profile manager.
By the way -- I am unable to create a duplicate profile name. The "Next" button remains grayed out until the names are different.
Also, a correction to using the Windows Taskbar search -- should read the Start > Run and enter Thunderbird -p.

Hi Bruce,
Thanks for your help. I may have mislead you. The names of the two profiles differ in the respect that one starts with a capital and the other does not (Shakushinnen as opposed to shakushinnen). Sorry about that.
