New mail chime while composing

Post by palosanto »

I'm not sure what I have changed in my TB email settings but now I keep getting a new email notification chime as the progressive drafts are saved until I actually send the message and all the drafts disappear.
What can I do to disable these notifications?
Thanks

Confirm that you don’t have your Inbox folder set as the target for storing draft messages. Look under Tools->Account Settings->Copies and Folders.

How is the account set up in Thunderbird, as POP or IMAP? Find out using menu path Tools->Account Settings->Server Settings->Server Type at the top right of the dialogue.

Does the same thing happen if you launch the program in Mozilla Troubleshooting mode?

Diagnose Thunderbird issues using Troubleshoot Mode
http://support.mozilla.org/kb/diagnose- ... shoot-mode

What version did the issue start? e.g. Thunderbird 102.0

Is the mail.server.default.check_all_folders_for_new pref set to false? (default false)

Is the "When getting new messages for this account, always check this folder" option unchecked in the Folder Properties dialog for the Drafts folder? (default uncheck)

i.e. right click Drafts folder then click Properties menu item to open Folder Properties dialog

...

There was a similar issue in older versions.

Freddy still had the issue in Thunderbird 68.
