inserting text into new email, copied text from word doc

Post by inkydinky »

copied text from a word document is inserted into a new email double spaced. checked page setup, no luck to find a solution. without having to manually delete the blank lines between the text (sometimes one and a half paragraph--often i insert information as i reread before sending) how can i change the text to single spacing in one fell swoop? thanks! :eyeroll2:

While editing an email try this.

Options > Format > Plain Text Only

Don't use Word for any formatting. MSWord uses a non-standard HTML which does not translate well to any program that uses standard HTML, like Thunderbird. If you want to use a word processor to do this, look into the free OpenOffice at http://www.openoffice.org/ which does use standard HTML.

Well, a lot of people use word for its spelling/grammar and other abilities. Granted openoffice and abiword have the same capabilities. However, if the method above doesn't work, you could always copy from Word to Notepad (plain text) and then copy and paste again into the body of your email. (this removes special characters and hidden parameters that MS Word uses)
