How can one remove the X-Mozilla-Status, X-Mozilla-Status2, User-Agent etc. headers?

I'm not aware of any preferences you can set to do this. You'd probably have to run a smtp proxy or a local smtp relay server.
You might investigate X-ray at http://www.xrayapp.com/xray/xray.shtml . Its free and lets you change/remove headers on outgoing mail.
Why do you want to remove those headers? I could understand why you might want to change/remove User-Agent for privacy reasons, but not the others.

I know of these proggies. There's also Maillita http://www.mendina.com/maillita.asp ,but I thought maybe there where some things possible in the user.js. You can add headers so why not the possibility to remove them?
Reason: I don't like these Mozilla headers (and others) and want to change to User-Agent (just for ).
