Hello,
I am using Mandrake linux 9.2 -- i decompressed all of the files into /usr/local/thunderbird, then I tried to run the 'thunderbird' shell script. I keep getting the following error:
[aaron@localhost thunderbird]$ ./thunderbird
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified
(thunderbird-bin:4165): Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display:
There is no help anywhere on installing under linux, just under windows, so I don't know if I'm doing something wrong.
Can anybody offer any insight on this?
Thanks.
Problems running thunderbird in linux

okay, I figured what I was doing wrong --- when I was trying to run it, I was using su as root, then another su (within the first one) as myself again. Oops. Also I couldn't launch it from conqueror as root. But as myself I could ....
So I got out of all my su's and got it to run.
Hopefully this may help some other stupid linux newb with the same problem!
