Hi. I have always used thunderbird as my e-mail client. It worked well untill last nite.
Usualy, when i start it up; it would ask me for my password and after i enter it, i would get my mail downloaded. But now for some reason i don't get the prompt for the password or my messages downloaded. It would say connected to my e-mail account (Earthlink), but nothing happens. I would click on the "Get Mail" button, but still nothing :(

Damn! I have the same problem!
Sometimes it works, sometimes (most of the times) it doesn't. Very annoying.

May be they all are waiting for more information about your TB build, used extensions and your OS. :-)

Seems you have to help yourself.
Did you search at Forum Links Search?
There you can find several posts regarding Thunderbird, Server and Password.
One (outgoing)Server setting seems to be critical: use secure authentication.
Good luck.
