If you were using Netscape 4.x it is the Communicator 4.x option in the import panels.
Select that, then choose the profile you want to import to in the next panel.

Hello I did that for my mail but that option does not occur for my adress book, only Endura, Outlook, Outloook express, and Text file, and yes, I'm sure that I had an adress book for netscape, any other options?

OK look in the NS 4.x mail folder for a file named abook.mab. If it is there, COPY it to the TB Mail folder.
I don't remember the adress book format for NS4.x versions. IT may be a *.pab file name.
If you still have NS4.x on your machine, EXPORT the address book from it using the LDIF option.
TB will IMPORT an LDIF file.

IF not, then look for the .pab files and open them with Notepad. When you find the one that has your email addresses in it, COPY it to address.txt, and try importing that in TB.

I think I steered you wrong about where to put it ! My bad!
Where did you copy it to? NOT in the Thunderbird Mail folder.
Your Thunderbird profile xxxxxxxx.slt folder is where it should reside.

I don't think Thunderbird was meant to handle Shockwave. At least I have not seen anything to tell me it will.
As far as graphics, Thunderbord should show images if they are embeded in the email, and if they are attachments, double clicking thtem should open you default image viewer.

Open abook.mab with a text editor ( Notepad ), and see if it has the names you expect.

Where exactly is the abook.mab file located on your computer?

It should be in a path similar to this;
C:\Documents and Settings\xxxx\Application Data\Thunderbird\Profiles\xxxx\xxxxxxxx.slt
Where "xxxx" is probasbly your name, and xxxxxxxx/slt is a random string.

If not, copy it, and put it there.

One last thing, then I'm out of ideas.
What is the setting in Tools|Account Settings|Composition&Addressing for the 'Addressing' portion at the bottom of the panel.
