Hi,
I just download Thunderbird but can't find anyway to get my Norton Antivirus to work with it. The emails are working fine except for being scanned. Thanks..

I am running Norton 2001 which I know, I need to update but I am having no problems with it so why fix something when it isn't broke. LOL Anyway, I did check Norton like you said and I can't see anyway of adding another program. It has outlook express and I clicked on everything. Sorry, I am not young...lol Any other suggestion? ThanksDunderklumpen wrote:Look under Options and then Internet (in Norton NOT Thunderbird).
Check settings there for your e-mail.
Norton (2002/2003) works just fine with ThunderBird/Mozilla Mail.

TB as Default
Like a needle in a hay stack when we know not your system info. so
pls list it: I use XP and TB 4.0 and Norton 2003 so try this first;
Ensure mail prog. is default app by going to ctrlPanel>Int Options>
Programs Tab>e-mail should read Mozilla Thunderbird. Write it in if
it is not there then reboot. Run Norton WinDoc. Go to any e-mail
link and click to test if it opens your email prog=tb.
If this fails then use run "Mozilla.org\Thunderbird\Thunderbird\Thunder-
bird.exe" -p to use Profile mgr and a dialog should pop up asking
if you want Thunderbird as default email, select Yes and all should then work for you. If not report back to forum. Good Luck.

Sorry; "Mozilla.org\thunderbird..." may not be your path to TB.exe so do use whatever said path is so as to open Profile Mgr. to get dialogue box. Does anyone know why we have to use the (") quotation marks? I am so used to seeing folks add "Don't use the marks..." but in this case they are needed. This is a learning forum, eh?
"Happy New Year" everyone. Bobby
