Netscape - imap importing

Post by Guest4555 »

Hi all, I have an IMAP email account with netscape.net. I want to know whether I can use Thunderbird to download my netscape mail. With netscape 7 it has a seperate mail program that enables me to log into it and receive my mail.

I have tried to enter the settings of the IMAP server into Thunderbird but it just keeps saying that it cannot connect to the server. Can anyone explain why this is and if I can get round it so that I do not have to use netscape anymore as it will soon be exstinct.

Thanks all Pete guest.

Netscapes server supports IMAP, POP3, and SMTP, but they also require you to use a proprietary protocol to authenticate the user. Netscape Composer has built in support for that protocol. Thunderbird and Mozilla don't.

Cheers I take it that there is no way of getting my mail from any other mail program then!
