Where are my Thunderbird contacts stored on the C drive??

Post by chrispy1 »

My hard drive was damaged but I was lucky enough to extract the majority of the data from it. What I am unable to do is locate where Thunderbird has stored my contacts on the C drive. All I want to do is copy the contacts so I can insert them into the newly installed version of Thunderbird on my new hard drive. Does anyone know what the default location is for the storage of contacts in Thunderbird??... thanks..

All personal data is in the Profile Folder:
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_Folder#Thunderbird
"abook.mab Thunderbird Personal Address Book"

Just use the search box in that KB article to the right at the top for *all* information relating to files/folders and TB FAQs.

You actually have two addressbook files: abook.mab and history.mab. Any books that you created will be labeled, for example, abook-1.mab, abook-2.mab, etc.
