Import Newsgroups

Post by Cushie »

All my email accounts and address book were imported successfully from OE, but can anyone advise how to import my newsgroups. I have tried search, wiki and google with no answer. Help most appreciated as I wish to export from xp to Ubuntu when I have everything set.

Cushie,

If you're referrng to my post previous post; I made that comment because you posted in Firefox Support. I moved your post to Thunderbird Support.

With a few exceptions, Thunderbird problems are out of my expertise, so I can't help you on this problem. Hopefully, someone will come along with an answer.

As far as I know you can't import the newsgroups from OE. Thunderbird does not have the tools to convert the way MS stored it's newsgroup data and accounts. Anyway, in the past, I have found it easier and faster to just bite the bullet and set up the accounts in TB again, and once it was doing well, delete all that data the MS downloaded by default.
