Other address book limitations

User Help for Mozilla Thunderbird

I miss a key feature from OE, and I am trying to figure out if TB can be configured for this behavior.

First, there does not seem to be an option to view the address book from the main window. I am very used to just double-clicking an address to generate a compose window to that recipient.

Two, the "TO" button in OE pops open a selectable list from the address book.

These features are key to my working method. In TB, I need to open the address book in a seperate (but equal;) window and copy and paste? I must be missing something, that is ridiculous. Can anyone tell me how to I set this up?

Press the Contacts button in the compose window. Then drag and drop, double-click or right click the address. The contacts window is sticky, you don't have to press the Contacts button next time.

thank you tanstaafl

I don't know how I missed that- it works fine.

I was looking for an equivalent contacts pane in the main app window, but having it on the compose page will work fine.

I should have figgerd this out on my own.

Thanks again!
