themes installed and toolbar disappearing

I have recently decided to change from the default theme for thunderbird 0.3

whatever new one i choose, and install, the toolbar across the top (get mail, write etc) disappears.

If you right click and try and customise it, nothing changes.

Is this a common problem?

I quickly flicked through these forums and haven't seen any people who have had this problem before.

The theme hasn't been updated with recent changes. Go back to the default theme or use one that has.

I upgraded to 0.5 and all the problems are solved.
