Hello,
I'd like to know if I can delete the phoenix directory in %AppData% because I've created a new one in a different location.
Can I move the two files that are there (at least there are in the %AppData% mozilla dir) eg. plugins.dat and registry.dat, to my new profile location?
By the way can I do the same with the Mozilla profile?
My c: partition is small because I have a small disk and have both windoz (slimmed down by Lite98) and Linux.
Thanks in advance for your help!
cheers

The phoenix directory is used by firebird/firefox, not thunderbird.
Registry.dat is a binary file used to record where the profiles are, and what they're called. You do not want to move it to another directory. As far as I know it gets created in the document and settings tree on your boot drive so if you really wanted to move it you'd need to boot off of a different drive.
If you're using thunderbird I suggest you don't use a mozilla profile. See http://www.texturizer.net/thunderbird/faq.html#q2.2 for how to convert.
If you're short of space I suggest you eliminate mozilla and use just firefox and thunderbird. It doesn't make much sense to use all three. You can edit your prefs.js for firefox to use a disk cache on a different drive. http://texturizer.net/firefox/tips.html#oth_cache . You can also use the -p command line argument with both firefox and thunderbird to create the profile on a different drive. That would sharply reduce your footprint on C:
